About Heaven VMX
Heaven VMX is a New South Wales vintage motocross club built around the dirt bike boom of the 1960s through to the 2000s. It is a travelling club rather than a club with its own home track: rounds are hosted at established motocross venues around the state, including Cessnock Motocross Club and Nowra Motoplex, so the terrain and facilities change from round to round. A typical Heaven VMX meeting runs Pre-65, Pre-70 and Pre-75 machinery alongside later evolution classes, plus junior and women's racing, capacity challenges and recreational rides for people who want track time without the pointscore pressure. The emphasis is on old iron being ridden the way it was built to be ridden, and the pits are as much a part of the day as the racing — expect a walk through the bikes to turn into a long conversation about carburettors. Entries are handled through Motorcycling Australia's Ridernet system and club administration is run from Narellan NSW. Because each round sits at a different venue, gate times, entry fees, camping and canteen arrangements are set by the host club and published with each event, so always check the round listing before you load the trailer. Heaven VMX also runs the Australian National Classic Motocross Championships in its calendar, which draws vintage riders from interstate.
