About Wollongong Motorcycle Club
Wollongong Motorcycle Club runs the Mt Kembla Dirt Bike Complex at 340 Harry Graham Drive, Kembla Heights, tucked against the Illawarra Escarpment on the western edge of Wollongong. It is one of the better-known clubs in NSW dirt bike circles, home of the 2 Stroke Cup and open to riders of all ages and abilities through the year. The senior motocross circuit is widely rated as one of the best in the region — cut into a natural hillside with real elevation change rather than a flat paddock layout — and it was the home track of racers Jay and Ryan Marmont, as well as a long-time favourite of magazine bike testers. Alongside the main track there is a dedicated beginners and junior track so smaller riders can build confidence away from senior traffic, and an enduro loop that winds through the surrounding bushland for off-road and trail riding. The club also runs trials as part of its wider off-road program, which makes it unusually well rounded for a single venue. Membership is required to ride at the complex, with day, junior, senior and family concession options, and you can join at the gate on any practice or race day. Everything is run by volunteers, from the officials on race day to the crew grooming the track through the week. Being close to Wollongong, the club draws riders from across the Illawarra, Macarthur and southern Sydney, and the escarpment backdrop makes it a genuinely scenic place to spend a Sunday. Gate times, entry fees and event dates shift with the season and school holidays, so check the club's Facebook page or website before you head up the hill.
